Marine Plywood

Marine plywood is a standard Sin Joo Lee product which has a permanent Type A phenolic bond. It is manufactured from selected species based on density, bending strength, impact resistance and surface finishing characteristics.

CONSTRUCTION Marine plywood manufactured by SJL Plywood possesses a superior stress grade of F17, and manufactured to BS1088.
GRADE There is no second grade marine plywood. Marine plywood to AS/NZS 2272-1996 has two A grade faces and a Type A bond. In the Australian Standards grading system, it has a grading of AA-A bond.
BONDING CLASSES 1 class with E1 glue - low emission of formaldehyde glue.
USAGE Marine plywood to AS/NZS 2272-1996 should be used in hulls of boats and where specified in other marine applications and in aircraft constructions. Marine plywood to overseas standards must not be substituted for AS/NZS 2272-1996 marine plywood. For assured performance marine plywood should be branded with the ‘PAA Tested’ marine plywood stamp.

QUALITY CONTROL Control External plywood quality control are conducted in accordance to CE certificate. None of the marine species are naturally durable and preservative treatment is required in marine plywood used in many marine environments such as boat hulls, pontoons and marine applications. Preservative treatment of marine plywood can be either carried out in a treatment plant prior to sale or in situ.
PACKING Plywood panels are packed on pallets as follows:
